Apple Crushes Facebook and Twitter Tracking
Jun 08, 2021

Andrew Torba ✝️

I am a Christian, a husband, a father, a patriotic American, and the CEO of @gab. Now faith is...

Apple's new privacy update is a huge attack on Facebook and Twitter's business model--and that's a good thing.

You must have a Gab account and be logged in to comment.
  • Is this only via the apps because I don’t use apps? Is there any other way to activate the feature?

  • Good but you will still get the same 'gimme root or I won't play' like BOA's app. Then do whatever they can to make fixing whatever is the issue in a snap on the app but impossible cumbersome or not possible.

They do not need the contacts. I asked them why do you need that? " Oh in case you want to send someone money."

You mean other than give it to them?

    Ahh..yeah automatically.

They need the app too then?

So you already know who they are so you don't need my contacts.

  • Love you, bro. Keep up the good work. Don't over work yourself. We need you.

  • Got rid of FB3 years ago. Man is life awesome without it. Focusing on God and family instead of all this idolatry. Don't forget that God is tracking your whole life, a Good Tracker!

  • Tim Cook is ok with what China is doing to it's own citizens. I find it hard to believe that this decision will serve the American people. Sounds good, but will it really stop these companies from collecting the data?

  • For the amount of info Apple has on me they protect my privacy better than anyone else.

  • Keep it up, bro! Gab needs to keep on keeping on. Let the leftists destroy themselves...

  • I deleted Bookface and Twatter months ago. I am willing to re-consider both for a nominal fee of $500 /Month to me and a guarantee of no tracking of my information. Gaggle still has a stranglehold on us but, that soon will end. Trumpware will rock!!

  • I predict that Apple will charge HUGE FEES to Facebook and Twitter to exclude them from this policy.... All companies, except FACEBOOK and TWITTER (plus any other tracking company that PAYS APPLE THE FEE), will be stopped from tracking users who do not agree to be tracked....

  • Havent heard Tiny Tim in decades! I was never an Apple fan, but this is a game changer.

  • I'll take any win we can get. I was an Apple fan boy, until politics was injected, for years. It gives me hope that some large companies aren't too far gone to change. I'll never discount the profit motive nor do I consider it a bad whatsoever, but it sounds like there are at least some folks over there who are fighting for ethical behavior. I'd rather reward that behavior with praise in hopes that it will nudge the company's trajectory a bit towards freedom.

  • The enemy has used this tactic for decades! They fund both sides of the war so #1 They get all profits, #2 It stops all competition on both sides!! Sounds to me like they are afraid of a GAB phone being made!! Just because the enemy throws you a bone does not mean they are no longer your enemy! Just my opinion!

  • Usually things that sound too good to be true are too good to be true. Let's hope this isn't some pre ruse by Apple to slide in one of their own tracking apps behind the scene that you will not be able to opt out of. As a long time IPhone user, I learned they never do something without a plan to make more $$$ from something else.

  • If this is true what will wind up happening is you'll not be allowed onto said sites unless you allow them to track you.

  • Now this IS a surprise.

  • Hahaha Apple didn't stop any app from tracking you. Apple still using tracking by using a background app that are not visible to a illiterate computer user. Apple is giving you the illusion that you are not been track. All tech companies are sleeping on the same bed. Dont be naive people.

  • I updated iOS but don’t remember seeing the notices. So how can I see if I approved? an if I did, how can I withdraw approval

  • Good. Facebook is like that one stalker ex that never lets you go, and I'm glad Americans can finally escape her.
