Description

We got out of the house between January rain showers for an afternoon at Seattle's Volunteer Park. For me, the park is Seattle's premier tourist attraction - well above Pike Place Market or the Space Needle. We toured in order: the conservatory, enjoyed the view from the Black Sun, visited the Seattle Asian Art Museum, and climbed (107 steps) the water tower for its view. The museum was remodeled and reopened in early 2020, and then had to promptly shut for the pandemic. It is open currently (January 2022) for limited hours three days per week with masks and vaccine card check required. This is one of the best collections of Asian art on the West Coast and beyond.
