The part where you talked about those who debate the Bible versus those who obey the Bible is 100 percent accurate, and is exactly what I have always described when I look at old versus young earth creationism. Old earth creationists interpret the Bible through the lense of the establishment narrative of deep time and evolution in order to justify conforming to the world system on origins, and young earth creationists actually accept what the Bible says, which allows them to interpret the world though the lense of the Bible.

So sorry you went through that. While it was several decades ago, I had a similar experience with many of my classes in college, but especially in my American Literature class, where the teacher (from the Deep South) was a self-styled expert in the Brook Farm Utopian movement in Concord, Massachusetts. Well I grew up there, used to canoe up to the Old North Bridge, had read these same philosophers extensively (Ralph Waldo Emerson, Emily Dickenson, Henry David Thoreau, etc....), visited their home, read their old letters, spoken extensively to museum curators at these homes and museums, including descendants, who knew these philosophers extensively, and had also read and watched reenacted debates at the old Lyceaum. So when she assigned me to write a term paper about Ralph Waldo Emerson's "Self-Reliance" (about American being ... gasp ... self-reliant) and I explained that, she handed me back my term paper, ORDERED me to change it into a screed about "social justice", and when I said "no" she gave me an F-minus and wrote a long, angry red diatribe across the paper that I would never amount to anything in my life.

The pain is REAL....

And it's only gotten WORSE. Now that my OWN kids are about to head off to college, I just wish there was a way to homeschool them through ALL of college.

I recommend that ALL conservative parents have their kids study for and take the CLEP exams for all their core "General Education Requirements". You can use old textbooks that you pick up at thrift shops or online used to study for them, or download the (sjw-infested) free books from ModernStates.org. For around $89 per subject (versus thousands) your kids can SKIP the entire first year of college, those topics where the WORST part of the brainwashing occurs.
