After the lamentation over the death of Israel, God gave Amos five visions. The destruction Amos saw in the first two visions did not come to pass because of Amos’ intercession. However, the events Amos saw in the final three visions did occur and Israel went into captivity. This looks like the end of Israel; however, Amos leaves the people with hope. What was torn away would be restored even beyond what they had originally been blessed with.
