The cement sheet on top of the plywood is a good idea, but I would have added a thin metallic sheet on top of that to spread the initial heat over a larger surface.
I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish here though.

When it's kaput the warranty is over? If that's the case, what's the "Limited" all about?
