What ABSOLUTE evidence does Dr. Z have that the MMR vaccine campaign in his community is what stopped the outbreak, and not a coincidence that the outbreak was already on it's way out? And what absolute evidence is there that the amplified collective placebo effect of everyone getting vaccinated, and BELIEVING [alleviating fear] that the outbreak would be taken care of by it?
It's an anecdotal speculation. No double blind placebo-controlled test to prove the hypothesis/speculation.
The same logic that applies to "vaccines don't cause autism, because there could have been underlying causes and you cannot use correlation as proof" applies equally here.
