Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-MI), a member of the Christian Reformed Church (CRCNA), defends legal protections for elective child sacrifice during a January 2023 appearance at Calvin University moderated by politics professor Micah Watson.
In remarks before a Q+A, Scholten says criminalizing violence against the preborn would violate the First Amendment of the Constitution. She then defends her vote against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act just days earlier. Her conscience is so seared, she even brushes off radical feminists challenging her to oppose the barbaric practice on the basis of secular human rights principles.
